In her 30 years of practicing law, Joanne M. Badeaux has had the pleasure of representing multiple generations of families in their estate planning, probate and real estate matters. Joanne has seen a thing or two, she knows a thing or two, and she constantly stays up to date on current laws. Joanne is a licensed attorney and member of the State Bar of Texas in good standing. She is a member of the Real Estate, Probate and Trust Law section of the State Bar of Texas.
Clients choose Joanne M. Badeaux because her advice is easy to understand, and the estate planning and probate documents she drafts have won when contested. Joanne has a soft but thorough approach with her clients, and she addresses the client's concerns and questions until they are satisfied. Joanne is uniquely qualified in representing Estates that have real estate and who want to transfer title and get warranty deeds in the name of the surviving spouse or beneficiaries because Joanne worked for Stewart Title Company prior to opening her own Law Firm in 1986.
Joanne has given presentations on Wills, Trusts and Probate:
Joanne specifically drafts unique Powers of Attorney and Directives to Physicians because Joanne spent several years volunteering in hospitals and nursing homes. She drafts these documents to make them easier to use in the stressful time of illness when medical decisions are being made.
Joanne has served as executor for family members, and she can relate to clients who are serving in that capacity. Joanne realizes that executors sometimes receive criticism or opposition from beneficiaries because executors are distributing assets which can trigger the beneficiaries in an unexpected way.
Joanne received her law degree J.D. in 1982 from Texas Tech School of Law. After graduating from law school, Joanne worked for law firms in the Galleria area, Houston, Texas on large transactions. In 1986, Joanne brought her big city expertise to and founded her law firm in the Clear Lake area, where it is located today. Joanne obtained her undergraduate degree B.S. in 1979 from Texas A&M University (“gig em” Aggies).
Joanne currently resides in League City, Texas. Prior to that, she lived in Clear Lake City for 20 years. Joanne is active in the local community. She attends concerts by Clear Lake Symphony and lectures at the Lunar Planetary Institute. Joanne relishes hiking at Armand Bayou Nature Center and kayaking at Walter Hall Park. Joanne believes in giving back and has volunteered for Habitat for Humanity and with various teenage groups. Joanne is the proud parent of one son who lives in Austin, Texas. He is a software engineer and his hobbies include flying airplanes.
